Husband-and-wife folk duo 3 Pairs of Boots invite The Boot's readers into their living room in August's Guest Room Sessions installment. Press play above to watch the pair perform a stripped-down version of their song "Anything for You."

Laura Arias and Andrew Stern are surrounded by shelves of cookbooks and albums as they sing "Anything for You," a song that turns the traditional notion of a love song on its head. "We thought, 'Let's just strip it away, set up a couple of amps and chairs, and see what happens,'" says Stern, who plays guitar. The result is a raw and powerful performance.

"To certain extent, "Anything for You" is an exaggeration of what can happen to people when they fall head over heels in love where the blinders are on and you don't see anything else," Stern explains. "It's a song that a lot of people can identify with, a love song, but not a typical love song. It's more tongue-in-cheek with funny twists in the lyrics, yet still heartfelt. Plus, it's just a lot of fun to play."

Based in California, 3 Pairs of Boots formed when Arias and Stern met via a "singer wanted" ad. The two have been making musical magic ever since -- and they got married within a year of meeting, too. Arias' emotive vocals pair with Stern's guitar to produce a sound that feels wholly authentic. Together, they count the Beatles, Tom Petty, Nick Drake, Buffalo Springfield and more folk and rock icons as musical influences.

"Anything for You" appears on 3 Pairs of Boots' debut album, titled Gone South, which was released on July 12. Fans can learn more about both the duo and their record at 3PairsOfBoots.com.
