Charges have been brought against a 25-year-old West Winfield man following a traffic stop on Tuesday in the Town of Bridgewater. According to New York State Police, Austin Parry was pulled over at a Valero gas station for a traffic violation when he accelerated and hit one of the troopers before taking off. Parry and his passenger, Erek K. Treen-Goff, age 27 of Ilion were located a short while later in the Town of Columbia.

The trooper was treated and released at Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown. Parry was charged with felonies of Assault in the second degree and Reckless Endangerment in the first degree. He was also charged with the misdemeanors of Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the second degree and Leaving the Scene of a Personal Injury Accident. Treen-Goff was charged with the misdemeanor of Obstruction Governmental Administration.

Parry was transported to Oneida County Central Arraignment and Processing where he remanded to the Oneida County Jail on $1,000 cash bail.  He is scheduled to appear in Oneida County Court today. Treen-Goff was released on an appearance ticket to the town of Bridgewater court on April 6.
