As a lifelong Capital Region sports fan who has just so happened to be in radio for most of my professional life the chance to “join the Team” pun intended was the kind of offer I’ve been dreaming of. Growing up a Yankees, Knicks and Raiders fan(a punishment I share with my beautiful daughter Ella) I’ve felt the pain and success that comes with diehard fandom. Luckily for me my friends that love the Giants have adopted me so I have a reason to watch football after the Raiders have been eliminated EARLY every season for the last 10 plus years. I’m excited to talk sports and enjoy multiple happy hours with all the sports fans of the Cap Region…even the Red Sox fans.

The Jets landed one of if not the hottest coaching candidate in former San Fransisco 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh and now they might have a legit shot at Deshaun Watson.

The Jets Winning Is A Win – Win

It's easy to look at the Jets' stunning victory over the Rams and be disappointed that Gand Green likely cost themselves the number one overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft but it looks like a win to me in more than one way. The belief is that Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence is a "sure thing" and must draft with the top pick but that's far from guaranteed and the Jets needs sadly run far deeper than QB. Sliding to the second overall spot provides the Jets with something they need more than any one position, options. With the top pick, you almost HAVE to take Lawrence whether you want him or not, now you have the freedom to maneuver.

Jets Need To Bring Back Rex Ryan

I have a list of coaches I'd love to see take over for the New York Jets about a mile long because any name that isn't Adam Gase is a name I like. So why in the world am I saying that Rex Ryan needs to return? I'm saying it because he has a true passion for the franchise and if coupled with the right offensive coordinator I think he could really excel in the post Bill Belichick era of the AFC East.

The fact that a man of color has made it to the sports highest level is definitely noteworthy and the fact that Wallace is willing to use success to help spread the message of growth and change is admirable. Recently Wallace was asked what the next step NASCAR should take and he suggested "getting rid of Confederate Flags."
