Mark Wilson, a native of Great Falls, has a deep-rooted connection to the world of country music. His early exposure came through his father, who was a morning radio host on KMON AM. Mark's childhood home was filled with the sounds of his dad's band practicing for their weekend gigs. One of the pivotal moments in Mark's life was attending the State Fair in Great Falls in 1971. His father served as the emcee for all the concerts, granting Mark the opportunity to enjoy front-row seats for performances by artists like Anne Murray, Glen Campbell, and the Carpenters. After high school, Mark embarked on his own journey in radio. He initiated his career at KMON Great Falls and transitioned to KYSS-FM in Missoula during his college years. His dedication to the radio industry led him to work for KGVO in Missoula and later KYSN-FM in East Wenatchee, Washington. In March 1988, Mark Wilson moved to Billings when Citadel Communications acquired the 102.9 FM and AM970 signals, launching the iconic Cat Country. Since then, he has been an integral part of the Cat Country team. Beyond his passion for radio, Mark enjoys his leisure time playing golf and racquetball, even though he admits that his skills in both sports are a work in progress.

I don't know if you know what Friday, April 22nd is or if you plan on celebrating. But It's Earth Day. And it was established in 1970. The goal of the day is to raise awareness about environmental protection.
And our president will be flying to Seattle and Portland tomorrow in an attempt to promote his environmental agenda...
This Country Artist Thanked Me For Interviewing Him
He thanked me profusely at the end of the interview like I was doing him a favor instead of the other way around. He then offered to buy me lunch if I ever found myself in Ouray, Colorado. He said, "I'm in the phone book. So, just give me a call".
If We’re Going to Vote Dolly in, We’d Better Vote in Glen Campbell Too
Some of my friends who like rock music over country music (which they still call country and WESTERN to irritate me) are upset that Dolly Parton is possibly going to get into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame. She's currently in fourth place behind Duran Duran, Eminem, Pat Benatar, and just ahead of the Eurythmics in the fan balloting. An...
Remembering Christmas Traditions
As we wind down our last few days of work, (and I can hear the choruses of "must be nice to have so much time off). I'm thinking about all of the Christmas traditions that my life has cycled through.
Personalized Birthday From Your Favorite Celeb, How Much?
I got a personalized birthday card with Donny Osmond singing to me a couple of years ago. It was pretty funny, and kind of cool. I ran across a couple of ads this morning showing which celebrity will do your messages. No, Sheryl Crow doesn't do them.
Country Music Artists Who Don’t Get Played Anymore
The good news is that accessing forgotten artists and songs has never been easier to do.
What Do You Think the New Normal Will Be?
I have heard that it will be done in three phases. The first phase would let restaurants open but wouldn't let bars open. So, if you are the Stadium Club that serves food, do you get to open?
How I Spent Time With My Family When I Was Young
I've really tried to focus on the positives that I see while we are sheltering in place. I love seeing families playing board games and going for walks. I think most families spend less time together today than they did back when I was a kid...
