Gunner grew up in Chicago and left at age 20 to travel the country and work on-air. He's lived all over the place and is now happy to be planted and staying put. When he's not waking up early and hanging out with Gwen on the Lonestar 92.3 Morning Show and playing your favorite country songs, you'll find him in the office working behind the scenes... He is also Brand Manager for Lonestar 92.3 and our sister station, 99.9 KBAT. He's excited to be here and he and his wife Vicki are looking forward to exploring West Texas and taking it all in... playing mini golf, going to movies, or grilling on the patio with the radio on.

Its The End Of January… Who Still Has Christmas Stuff Up?
Here we are-The last weekend in January is upon us... And although there's no written law as far as City Government goes (at least, none that this author is aware of anyway)--you should probably have Christmas taken down by now and all put away til this upcoming season. We had a few really nice days that got into the 70's early on in January that were perfect days to be out and up on a ladder taking down the lights.
Crazy Things Found In Dead Relative’s Houses
It's never a fun project--going thru and cleaning out the residence of a relative who's passed on. Not only do you come across trinkets and belongings and photos that bring back memories as well as items you wonder why they've kept for so many years. But you also have the potential to come across some really strange things. Some of those things may let you in on secrets you had no idea about. Discovering they were into things you never knew they liked. We want to hear all your stories. Call us in the morning, or message us on the Lonestar 92-3 app, and let us know some of the unusual or surprising things you've come across in these situations.

Morning, Noon Or Night–The Best Time Of Day Debate!
Some people call it "Dusk", some call it "Twilight" (not to be confused with the vampire movie series of the same name), and others call it "Grey Time".... That time of day when the sun goes down but it's still light out. THAT is my all-time favorite time of day. Doesn't matter what season it is. If it's summertime-it's the perfect time to take the dogs for a walk, when the lighting is soft on your eyes and you're not squinting in the sunshine, and it's not too dark where you're struggling to see what you're doing under the street lamp. In the winter months (especially here in Texas) it's also the perfect time to enjoy a walk with your special someone in a hoodie or sweater, or sit out on the patio with the firepit going. That's MY person favorite time of the day. Yours may be different.
“No Loud Crying Babies Allowed”-Would You Eat Somewhere That Displayed That Sign?
What if restaurants had a special "cry room" for families, like churches do? Or-if they had a sign that simply stated ""No Loud Crying Babies Allowed"--would you eat there? Would you support it? Or would that turn you off and send you to the next place? Comment below and let us know!
Discipline At School-Would You Be Angry If A Teacher Hit Your Child?
There are many questions and a ton of possible different scenarios on any given day in any classroom across the state of Texas to consider. But tomorrow on the show--that will be the debate discussion at 8:10.... Discipline In The Classroom--should teachers be allowed to hit? Or not? I know there are parents out there who are very passionate about this subject--so we wanna hear from you on the Friday morning edition of Gwen and Gunner in the Morning!
Garth Brooks And Holly Dunn Have A Duet?!
It's easily one of THE most embarrassing moments in my radio career. My excuse? I was a newbie. I started in radio in 1989 in Peoria, IL. And the station I was working for had Diamond Rio play our local arena--The Peoria Civic Center--in one of their convention halls we turned into a honky tonk. We set up a stage, a bar, a dance floor, and plenty of seating and tables and gave away a ton of tickets on the air for the show. This was only going to be the second concert I had been to with the station; the first being Alabama with Clint Black the year before in 1990 at the same venue.
What Car Did You Pass Your Driver’s Test In?
Back then-your own wheels meant freedom. Because we didn't have cell phones and we weren't endlessly connected to the world--so getting behind the wheel was a true one of a kind experience back then and it was just you, the open road and the radio. You never forget your first car or the car you got your license in for the first time.
Are Hot Dogs Sandwiches?
We talked about this on the show this morning--that 60% of men agree and 52% of women agree--that a hot dog is a SANDWICH. NO! I am not in that camp. A hot dog is NOT a sandwich! It's a HOT DOG. Just like a bunch of deli meat and cheese with some veggies in bread is a SUB----not a sandwich. To me-a "sandwich" is something between two flat pieces of bread:
Are You Addicted To Social Media?
The best way I've heard it described is "You're seeing the highlight reels" from everyone. Typically no one is posting about when their kids sassed back or got in trouble, when they got in trouble at work, or when they've gotten into a fight with a significant other. It's usually all about little Johnny or Suzie's big achievement at school or in sports, or a family vacation, or a new car or house, a new job, etc. Something fun that we can all enjoy and celebrate with them. Not to mention all the cute pet pics and the funny memes. It's easy to get sucked it.
