The New York State Education Department is proposing changes to provide those wanting to earn a high school equivalency diploma with additional ways for them to reach that goal. One of those changes is permitting students who have passed any Regents examination in Mathematics, English Language Arts, Social Studies or Science to use those passing scores in place of the corresponding Test Assessing Secondary Completion subtests. Students will not be allowed to use previously passed Regents exam scores towards a High School Equivalency diploma until they have exited from high school.
