
Cherry Valley Woman Airlifted To Albany Med After ATV Accident
New York State Police are reporting that an ATV accident early Saturday evening resulted in a Cherry Valley woman being airlifted to Albany Medical Center. The accident occurred at County Road 32 and Salt Springville Road in the town of Cherry Valley. A responding trooper found 46-year-old Amber M. Girard lying unconscious on the shoulder of the road.
According to police, Girard had been driving the ATV at a fast speed when she lost control of the vehicle, which rolled, ejecting her. She was not wearing a helmet. A bystander who found her happened to be a nurse who monitored Girard's vital signs until EMS could arrive.
Girard is in serious but stable condition. The investigation is on-going.
