The Edmeston Museum is excited to host two separate book clubs during the summer.    The book clubs are designed for young people transitioning out of Third, Fourth or Fifth grade.    Unlike other book clubs, the focus is less on discussion and more on a hands-on experiences that can occur at our local museum.   There is no charge for either book club which will occur at The Edmeston Museum, 1 North St, Edmeston, NY.   Participants may register for one two-day session or both two-day sessions.

The first session will be based on The Little House in the Big Woods by Laura Ingalls Wilder.   It will be held on Tuesday, July 17 and July 24 from 6:30 to 8 p.m.    Activities will include a museum scavenger hunt for tools used in the book and a chance to make homemade butter.   Participants will receive a free copy of the book and will create a lap book.

The second session will be based on The 5,000 Year Old Puzzle by Claudia Logan.   It will be held on Tuesday, August 7 and August 14 from 6:30 to 8 p.m.   Activities will include examining various types of rocks, fossils and Native American artifacts along with learning how to use a metal detector.    Students will receive a free copy of the book and receive a small collection of various types of rocks.
