Fatal Otego Accident

State police out of Oneonta say that a fatal accident took place Sunday afternoon, just east of the village of Otego.  Authorities say the collision of a train and a golf cart resulted in the death of a Delaware County man, with his wife being severely injured.

According to police, the husband and wife were apparently trying to drive the golf cart across the railroad tracks when a southbound train collided with their cart.  Emergency medical personnel from Otego Fire and Rescue squads were at the scene, as well as Cooperstown Medical Transport, Otsego deputies and state police.
