Lainey Wilson Is Looking for a New Gig + It Ain’t Singing [Exclusive]
Lainey Wilson has so much on her plate right now, it's like she's dining at Golden Corral. But it's not enough — the reigning ACM and CMA Entertainer of the Year wants to add more.
In an exclusive interview on Taste of Country Nights, host Evan Paul asked Wilson if she's looking to expand her acting resume (she was on Yellowstone), or if she'll be sticking exclusively to music.
It turns out, she's thought this through.
"I'd like to be in a sitcom, but I'd also like to do some voice acting," Wilson admits.
Voice acting is usually associated with animated projects, where you aren't seen, only heard. So while she's known for her voice, this would be something completely different. She even knows which cartoon character jobs she'd be after.
"If you need a redneck cartoon, I got you, brother," Wilson says, joking, but not.
Wilson's role as Abby on Yellowstone has been a hit with viewers, and she might not be done. The "Heart Like a Truck" singer suggests she may be back.
"No comment, because I've heard all kind of stuff," she says, playing coy. "That's why. It ain't a yes, it ain't a no."
Abby's character was written specifically for Wilson by the show's creator, Taylor Sheridan. She says a few of her country music buddies have asked her to plug their names to him, but she won't do it — she thinks it should come naturally.
