Minor Injuries After Whitney Point School Bus Accident

State troopers from Binghamton and Endwell responded to a Whitney Point school bus accident Monday.

The investigation revealed that the school bus driver had attempted to pull onto the hard shoulder following a commotion in the back of the bus involving a student punching and kicking a seat. The bus partially sank in the snow, causing it to tip towards its right side and come to rest against a utility pole.

Ambulances responded to the scene and checked the 21 students. A few had minor injuries consisting of bumps and bruises. The school bus received minor damage and was towed.

The investigation is continuing.
