
Motor Cycle Crash Claims Lives of Binghamton Police Officer and Former Officer
A motor cycle crash in the City of Binghamton took the lives of a female Binghamton police officer and a former male Binghamton police officer.
It happened about 10:00 pm Sunday. Fire medics responded to the scene to find the male victim deceased. The female was transported to to Wilson Hospital where she was pronounced dead a short time later.
The male victim was identified as Christopher Stoeckel. Police believe he was the driver of the motorcycle, and 28-year-old Katie Brown was a passenger. Stoeckel had lost control and hit a guardrail ejecting both.
Speed is thought to be a factor in the accident. Toxicology results are pending.
