I was thrilled that the Great New York State Fair was coming back to Syracuse for the summer of 2021. There are so many things that I enjoy including live music. I really was excited that they were doubling the number of concerts with the Chevy Park and Chevy Court.

One of the great things about these shows is that it's free with your paid admission, which is only 3 dollars. Many country artists have been performing including LOCASH on opening day.

But if I had to pick one day to go to the fair, it was going to be Tuesday, August 31st. There were going to be two shows including Jamey Johnson at the Chevy Court at 7 p.m. But the show that I wanted to see the most was going to be a 2 p.m. at Chevy Court with...the Oak Ridge Boys.

Anyone that knows me, knows that my favorite country song is "Elvira" and I have been known to sing that song at karaoke and change some of the words. Some people love it when I sing that song but more people LOVE it when I'm finished singing it.

I've actually sung "Elvira" many times with the Oak Ridge Boys...from the comfort of my seat. I hope that someday, I will actually be able to sing it with them on stage. I don't care if they don't turn on my microphone, it will be a dream come true.

Oak Ridge Boys Aren't Coming To The New York State Fair

I know one thing...I won't be singing it with them this year at the New York State Fair. They had to cancel their show because of COVID-19 cases among the tour staff. The good news for the boys is that none of them have tested positive but they will self-quarantine anyway.

Whiskey Hollow Rush will take their place at 2 p.m. at Chevy Park.
