New York is making $15 million available for high-need school districts to establish pre-kindergarten programs if a state program hasn’t been previously established. According to Governor Cuomo's Office, the programs for three- and four-year-olds can bridge achievement gaps and provide benefits in the earliest stages of youth and throughout adulthood. Grants will be awarded to districts with a preference to those ensuring the inclusion of students with disabilities in integrated settings and programs. Application deadline is September 18.
