New York State is receiving $15.1 million in federal funding that will be made available to state and county emergency management agencies for disaster planning and operational readiness according to Governor Cuomo's Office. The money comes from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) which support efforts ranging from the development and implementation of trainings and exercises to acquiring emergency response resources. This is in addition to a $4.3 million supplemental grant money already awarded to the state for similar efforts focused on the COVID-19 outbreak.
