Publisher Clearing House Scam Appears in Delaware County

The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office reports a new scam is making the rounds where the caller says they’re with Publishers Clearing House and they have a cash prize and a car to award but in order to collect the caller demands a money order to cover taxes and fees associated with the winnings. The scammer tells the potential victim they have to send it to an address in Jamaica in order to win. The sheriff’s office says the Publishers Clearing House does not call prize winners in advance.
