If you want to see creativity in full force, then get to the Southside Mall in Oneonta this week to see the results of the Canstruction event, a collaborative project from SUNY Oneonta’s Center For Social Responsibility and Community and the Southside Mall designed to help bolster local food pantries and spur creativity and cooperation for this community service project.

According to Bassett Healthcare, 2645 pounds of food was collected through Canstruction 2019 for area food pantries!

Teams competed to construct the best "canstruction" with non-perishable food items for construction materials, using no glue or any other type of adhesive.  A.O. Fox Hospital was awarded "Best Use of Labels" for their structure (see below), recreating the childhood game "Operation".  What a great job!  The People’s Choice Award has yet to be awarded since it is determined by the public voting for their favorite.  Stop by the Southside Mall, view the entries and vote for your favorite this week.
