Before taking the stage to play the Taste of Country Music Festival on Friday night (June 14), the five men of Blackberry Smoke talked about the burgeoning country music scene in Atlanta and how they take care of their beards.

Day 2 of the Taste of Country Music Festival brought some sunshine and a few of the rowdiest bands in country music out to play. Beginning with newcomer Rachel Farley -- who more than held her own -- the six acts to take the stage in Hunter, N.Y. shook the valley of the venue located in the Catskills Mountains on Friday (June 14).

Since Blackberry Smoke was announced as one of the acts performing at the Taste of Country Festival June 13-15 at Hunter Mountain and I plugged them in to a fairly steady rotation, the response from Big Kat listeners who had not previously heard them has been fantastic...

This week our on-air poll was looking for your favorite "Blackberry Smoke" tune.  They, of course, will be at the Taste of Country Music Festival at Hunter Mountain in June.  As I said in an earlier post, I hadn't heard much of these guys before they were announced as part of the festival, but after listening to some of their stuff, I can't wait to see them...
