FEMA has declared a total of 18 counties in New York State

Governor Cuomo's office announced this week that the Federal Emergency Management Agency has approved New York State's request for a major disaster declaration following the rains that battered the Southern Tier in August.

Just in case you missed it, The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), has put off the "Presidential Alert" test sent to American smartphones and wireless devices

This Thursday, if your cellphone buzzes loudly and a message comes on the screen reading "Presidential Alert", don't be alarmed. This is a Nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System.
