Independence Day is perfect for outdoor family fun. It's also the one time of year when it’s seems to be okay to play with matches. Family fun and playing with matches may seem like an unlikely combo, but hey, so is America, right?

They are gearing up for a party in Earlville Friday and Saturday, July 18th and 19th. We told you yesterday about the great line-up of local performers scheduled for the July 4th festival at the Chenango County Fairgrounds, but there is plenty to do in addition to enjoying the  live music all day. There will be a Karaoke contest at 10 AM, the Ross Park Zoomoblie is open from 2-5, there's a hot dog eating contest at 2:30, and of course plenty of food, crafts and more...
