The Idaho Foodbank and Dolly Parton Celebrate Kindness

Dolly Parton is celebrating her 75th Birthday Today! (Tuesday, Jan. 19) For her birthday with, she simply wants kindness.

The Idaho Foodbank is Launching its own Kindness Campaign today.  IdahoKind is a Kindness and $100,000 Match Campaign. According to the press release, The goal is to generate 1,000 acts of kindness and raise $200,000 to provide food for up to one million meals. This was inspired and set in motion due to the generosity of Duane and Lori Stueckle who pledged a challenge match of $100,000 for Idaho. It kicked off yesterday and runs through February 14, 2021 (Valentine’s Day).

Along with the donation match they are encourage all Idahoans to do acts of kindness in their communities. You got a few examples from Birthday girl Dolly above but here are some more from the Idaho Food Bank, help a neighbor, be a shoulder for a friend, volunteer for a local organization, make a financial donation to a favorite nonprofit, walk an elderly person’s dog, pay for the Starbucks order of the car behind you, shovel snow from a neighbor’s driveway, send your favorite teacher a gratitude note, then share this feel-good story on social media using #IdahoKind.
This can be any kind act, The acts of kindness do not need to be connected to The Idaho Foodbank. This is a statewide effort to increase the awareness of the on-going food assistance, spread kindness and help create healthier communities through community activism. Find out more from the foodbank website here.
