Unfortunately, it's looking more and more like this could indeed be the final Pumpkin Festival in Norwich.  The 20th annual festival is this Friday and Saturday, October 26th and 27th.  Organizers have labelled this year's event as "20th Annual Pumpkin Festival, Our Final Farewell."  The present committee is still holding out hope that a group will come forward who want to keep the festival alive,  but time is running out, as planning is nearly a year long task.

This year's fun kicks off Friday night with the harvest dinner from 5-7 PM at the Broad St. United Methodist Church, a Giant Pumpkin Contest, and a Laser Light Show.  Things get into high gear Saturday at 9 AM and go all day right up until the fireworks show at 8:30.

There will be plenty of food, contests, a parade, and entertainment featuring Rylee Lum, The Beadle Brothers, Realtime Dixieland Band, and more.

We recently had festival committee members Marilyn Oliver and Jamie Gaudreau into the studio to talk about this year's event schedule, but more importantly, to talk about the future of the Pumpkin Festival, if there is one.  Check out what they had to say below.
