Town of Oxford Accident Takes Greene Woman’s Life

Yesterday morning, according to the Chenango County Sheriff's Office, a three vehicle accident involving 2 tractor trailers and a small sedan, proved fatal for a Greene woman.  The accident happened at around 7:00 a.m. on State Route 12 in the Town of Oxford when Kathryn Frear, who was driving behind a tractor trailer driven by Jereme Lehmer of Oxford, was hit from behind by another tractor trailer driven by Kenneth Price of Buffalo who had failed to stop for the two turning vehicles.

Both Lehmer and Price were able to get out of their vehicles, however, Frear was trapped inside her car.  She was pronounced dead at the scene. Price was transported to Chenango Memorial hospital with minor injuries while Lehmer was injury free.

The accident is still under investigation and more information will be released at a later date. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Oxford Fire Department, Brisben Fire Department, Greene EMS, Norwich Fire Department and the New York State Department of Transportation.
