WARNING: A New Scam Surfaces in Chenango County
The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office is warning you of a new scam making the rounds. The Sheriff’s Office has received complaints of a company called DOTService stating that DOT numbers are expired and that residents need to complete a biennial update. The scammers claim that failure to do so results in deactivation of the DOT numbers and a civil penalty. The Sheriff’s Office urges residents to not respond to any letter or phone call from this company.
