New York State Police are warning Oneonta commuters that they can expect traffic delays today through this Thursday on State Highway 23 north of state highway 8 in West Oneonta as a large pine tree gets felled.

The northbound lane will be closed today from 12:00 p.m.- 2:00 p.m. and tomorrow from 9:00 a.m.- 1:00 p.m. On Thursday, the northbound lane will be closed from 7:00 a.m.- 9:00 a.m. then both lanes will be closed until around 11:00 a.m. The closures are necessary while the evergreen is cut down and put on a trailer to then travel to Rockefeller Center in New York City as the Christmas tree this year.
