35-year-old Jovonne Best of Bainbridge is charged with two felony charges each of aggravated assault against a police officer with a deadly weapon and reckless endangerment as well as criminal mischief in the incident August 27 that began as a concern about an order of protection

Troopers say they were called with a report of a violation of an order of protection at a home on Route 7 in Bainbrige at around 10:30 a.m.  When an officer was interviewing Best outside the home, she ran into the garage and got into a vehicle.

Authorities say the woman recklessly accelerated in reverse and nearly hit the investigator before hitting the garage door frame.  The debris from the door frame hit the trooper, knocking the officer to the ground.  Best then drove the vehicle into the State Police vehicle parked in the driveway.

She was sent to the Chenango County Jail on $25,000 bail.
