Fatal Accident Near Greene

One person is dead in a one-car crash Monday in Chenango County. According to New York State Police, it happened on State Route 12 in Greene when the driver who was heading northbound crossed into the southbound lane, then went off the road. The car then rolled over landing on its roof and caught on fire. The driver’s name is withheld at this time pending next of kin notification. No other injuries were reported. Route 12 was closed for several hours as the crash investigation proceeded.
