This surprised me a little but the Empire State did very well. New York parents get top marks for serving up mouthwatering meals that even the pickiest kids can't resist. Crestline surveyed parents and kids from all over the United States (including here in New York) to find out how often parents pack their kid's lunch, what foods are kid's favorites, and more.

The survey found that parents in New York take healthy eating seriously as they load up their kids with fresh fruits and vegetables. Kids love that their parents are letting them pick what they want for lunch.

Sandwiches with all sorts of fillings? Check. Crunchy chips or veggie sticks? Check again. Sweet treats like cookies and brownies? Triple check!

Parents in New York also say they not only let their kids pick out what to eat for lunch but they also let their kids help them put the lunch together. When it comes to what foods New York kids say are their favorite they can't resist pizza.

Pizza took the top spot in the survey. Fresh fruit, cookies, brownies, and candy also made the list of top favorite things to find in a lunch box. When it comes to actual school made and served lunches, New York also ranks high on the list of states with the best school lunches. We seem to hear all about what is wrong with New York, it's fantastic that we can share what is good about the Empire State.
