Two Upstate New York women from Tioga County are preparing to embark on a 740-mile voyage along the Northern Forest Canoe Trail, all in the name of honoring and supporting service members.

Not only will these women test their physical limits, but they will also raise funds for the Tunnel to Towers Association, a foundation dedicated to assisting our brave heroes.

Over the past few years, BobbiJo Tallon and Chrissy Noble have found themselves on paddling expeditions which have left them with a deep appreciation for the support they receive, the natural beauty of their country, and the freedom that enables their adventures.

However, BobbiJo and Chrissy understand that this freedom comes at a cost, paid by the brave men and women who serve in the military and as first responders. Recognizing the sacrifices made by these patriots, the two women have resolved to embark on their upcoming journey to pay tribute to their dedication and bravery.

This June, in a feat accomplished by only one other female duo, Susan Storch and Mary Duk in 2016, BobbiJo and Chrissy will canoe from Old Forge, New York, all the way to Fort Kent, Maine, covering the full length of the Northern Forest Canoe Trail.

Stretching across 740 miles, the Northern Forest Canoe Trail spans 23 rivers and streams, 59 lakes and ponds, and 45 communities, and includes over 70 miles of portaging (which means having to carry their canoe over land).

The goal of BobbiJo and Chrissy is not just to conquer the physical challenges of the trail but also to raise funds for the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. To make their endeavor even more meaningful, they have set a target of collecting $10 for each mile of their journey.

Every dollar raised will go towards supporting the foundation's mission of assisting service members and their families.

The Tunnel to Towers Foundation has been a steadfast supporter of America's first responders and military heroes since the tragic events of 9/11. By donating Tunnel to Towers Foundation, individuals are contributing to the ongoing efforts of the foundation and helping ensure that the sacrifices made by these heroes are never forgotten.

The journey of BobbiJo and Chrissy will not only challenge their limits but also serve as a reminder of the sacrifices made by service members and their families. As they paddle their way through the Northern Forest Canoe Trail, these women hope to inspire generosity and gratitude in others, encouraging support for the heroes who protect our freedom.

If you would like to donate to BobbiJo and Chrissy's Paddling for Patriots mission, you can learn more about how to make a tax-deductible donation here.
