Billions of cicadas have emerged from the ground up and down the east coast as, after 17years, they began the task of searching for a mate.

The outbreak began in North Carolina and is now pretty much at its peak in New York, mostly in the Hudson Valley.  So, how have some people been coping with the cicadas?  By eating them!

Yup, apparently they are, um, tasty. some say when cooked, they taste like shrimp.One woman has found more than one way to enjoy them.

Entomologist Jenna Jadin has written a cook book full of cicada recipes. Seriously. Check it out.  One hint....Jadin says it's best to scoop them up by the bag full when they are newly hatched. Yum...
