Recently, Norwich City Police have received complaints from citizens about door to door vendors. They cited two incidents with different approaches but the same results.

One involved a man knocking on a door and asking to buy antique furniture that may be in the home.  After looking around, he left without buying anything, prompting the victim to call police.

Another involved an elderly female resident asked to purchase magazine subscriptions for soldiers serving in Afghanistan. She wrote a check to the "sales" person and the check was cashed with no way of verifying subscriptions were actually purchased.

Chief Angelino urges residents to call City Police when anyone suspicious comes to their door.
