The City of Oneonta is joining with other municipalities across the state allowing residents to pay their 2018 taxes prior to the end of this year in order to allow the full use of the federal tax deduction before the new tax regulations take effect. The recently-signed federal tax reform bill made changes in the amount of tax payments New Yorkers can deduct on their returns. Last week Gov. Cuomo issued an emergency order allowing property owners to prepay their 2018 school and property taxes.
