On the heels of Cooperstown announcing that their Halloween parade has been cancelled, along with related events, the Oneonta Lions Club who was this year's sponsor for the Oneonta Halloween parade has released the following statement on October 31st activities:

The Oneonta Lions Club is cancelling our participation in the Halloween Parade and Related Activities this year.  The Oneonta Lions Club plans on sponsoring the Halloween Parade and Related Activities next year.  We are wishing everyone health, safety, and wellness!

Keep in mind that this does NOT mean that trick or treating is cancelled. Governor Cuomo made the following statement regarding the October 31st holiday on September 15...

I would not ban trick-or-treaters going door to door. I don't think that's appropriate. You have neighbors - if you want to go knock on your neighbor's door, God bless you and I'm not going to tell you not to. If you want to go for a walk with your child through the neighborhood, I'm not gonna tell you you can't take your child to the neighborhood, I'm not going to do that - I'll give you my advice and guidance and then you will make a decision what you do that night.
