The 171st annual Chenango County Fair opens Tuesday at the fairgrounds on East Main St. in Norwich, and thanks to the generosity of Chobani, admission is free!. Gates open at 10:30 with NYSEG electric demonstrations scheduled throughout the day, harness racing and entertainment in the grandstand by the Peter Karp Band.

The midway will open at 4 PM Tuesday, and at 1PM every other day.  Among the free daily shows are a chainsaw carver, Chi Chi the Clown, J.D. Winslow Horses, and great displays in the exhibition hall by the Chenango Historical Society, master gardeners and more.

Remember, country music artists and  finalists on season 4 of "The Voice'", the Swon Brothers will hit the stage Wednesday with tickets available at Blue Ox Neighborhood Markets in  Oxford, Norwich and Mt. Upton.  More on the brothers  tomorrow, including a great interview(if I do say so myself) with Zach and Colton Swon.  The Chenango County Fair runs August 7th through the 12th.
