UPDATE: Stewie has been adopted!

Meet the Susquehanna SPCA “Pet of the Week” – his name is “Stewie”.  Each week on Tuesday mornings at 8:30 am on Classic Hits 103.1fm, Leslie Ann will host members of the Susquehanna SPCA, who will tell us all about a special dog or cat at the shelter looking for its forever home.

This week, we're excited to tell you about Stewie who is a handsome, lovable 2-year-old cat who is searching for a forever family to love. He has a very special story. Stewie was brought in by two good samaritans who found him on the street and had taken him in temporarily while they tried to find his owners. After caring for him for a few days, they noticed that he seemed to be in distress when using the litter box. They gave SQSPCA a call because they knew he needed medical attention that they were unable to provide for him. Long story short, the animal shelter discovered that Stewie was suffering from very painful bladder stones. Since he had the surgery to remove the stones, Stewie has been doing very well. Folks often overlook Stewie because he is on a special diet to prevent him from developing more stones in the future, but we know that if you give him the chance, he will provide you with so much love that the little bit of extra money for food will be worth it.

To meet Stewie or any of the other adoptable dogs and cats, give the SQSPCA a call at 607-547-8111 to schedule a time to visit for convenience, although walk-ins are welcome.
