...that is the motto of the recently formed Suicide Prevention Coalition of Chenango County. One of the founding members of the coalition, Ann Marie Troy joined us in the Big Kat studios Wednesday to share some information about her group.

Troy said the coalition was started last summer because there really was a lack of suicide prevention resources in the county. Their purpose is to increase awareness of what is the 10th leading cause of deaths in the United States. They hope to prevent at least some of these deaths by educating the community about suicide and how to recognize signs of a problem.

The training they offer is called "Safe Talk" and a session will be offered Friday, January 30th from 1:30-5 PM at the Morrisville State College Norwich Campus. For more information, call 334-8244 and listen to the entire interview with Ann Marie by clicking below.
