Minnesotans have the best way to ring in New Year's Eve this year - with Thomas Rhett!

It is hard to believe that 2022 is almost here. It has been a long few years and it would be amazing to ring in the new year with some of your very favorite country stars. I would say that sets up for a pretty good end to the year!

Sadly, Thomas did not come to Minnesota on his latest tour. He announced his 2021 tour in April as things were slowly starting to open back up. Sadly, he did not come to any surrounding areas either so I am glad he is making up for it now!

He was also named the hottest country artist of the year and he is keeping that title going, announcing this massive show for New Year's Eve. By the sounds of it, it is going to be amazing.

The special show was announced early Monday (November 8th) and is called the Winter Classic New Year's Eve Bash. It is meant to be a celebration for the 2022 Discover NHL Winter Classic, which will feature the Minnesota Wild and the St. Louis Blues.

Newcomer Conner Smith and Cole Swindell will open the show. The event starts at 8:30 p.m., which is a little later than the standard show. This is likely so it will wrap up around midnight for the new year!

Tickets for the show go on sale Friday, November 12th. You are not allowed to bring bags into the venue. This includes small bags like clutches, clear bags, purses, backpacks and fanny packs, according to the Xcel Energy Center's website.

This is the latest in a string of concert announcements. There have been several big announcements like this recently. Darius Rucker announced he would be playing a string of small venues next year and it includes a stop at an intimate theater in the Twin Cities.

Walker Hayes is also embarking on The Fancy Like Tour, which will be making a stop in Minnesota at the Orpheum Theatre. That show will take place less than a month after Thomas comes to our neck of the woods as well.

Kane Brown, Kenny Chesney and the Brothers Osborne are a few other examples of big superstar acts that will be coming to Minnesota in the very near future. It can be hard to keep track of all of the concerts and shows coming to the area, especially with COVID-19 postponing so many. We keep up with it all for you with our concert calendar.
